Fixed Trek Departures
Ladakh offers extraordinary mountain experiences for everybody. Hikers and trekking enthusiasts find in Ladakh a wide range of trekking routes, from easy day trips to strenuous multi-week experiences.
There are two trekking programs which we have on offer for our dear guests: The Classic Markha Valley, and the Historical Sham Trek (also known as the Baby Trek). Both itineraries can be booked as a camping-style trekking or as a home stay experience. Classical Markha Valley Trekking7 days / moderate to vigorous / 5 to 8 hours per day
Highest point: Kongmaru-la (5,260 m) The Markha Valley is one of the best known trekking routes. Due to its accessibility, it is easy reachable by taxi and not far from Leh. You can choose from two access points, Jingchan or Chilling. The valley offers stunning views of the mountains, and if you are lucky, you will encounter wild animals as the valley is part of the Hemis National Park. At Nimaling, the last camp before Kongmaru-la, you will see the mighty peak of Kangyatse which is 6,400 m high. Itinerary: Day 1 Jingchang – Yurutse or BC of Ganda-la / Day 2 Yurutse or BC of Ganda-la – Skyu / Day 3 Skyu – Markha / Day 4 Markha – Thachuntse / Day 5 Thachuntse – Nimaling – BC of Khangyatse / Day 6 Nimaling – Chuskurmo / Day 7 Chuskurmo – Shang Sumdo – Leh / Phyang Prices 2021 INR 40,400/- per person for a group of 2 people INR 36,800/- per person for a group of 3 to 6 people INR 32,500/- per person for a group of 7 to 10 people |
Historical Sham Trekking / Baby Trekadaptable from 3 to 9 days / easy to moderate / 5 to 7 hours per day
Highest point: Meptek-la (3,800 m) The parallel north–south valleys of Liker, Yangthang, Hemis Shukpachan and Temisgam together make up the Sham Region. Trekkers find here an easy route which is suitable for first-timers in such an altitude, trekking beginners, families, or travellers in their more mature seasons. The area is full of history where you will encounter lovely villages, monasteries, and castles. Overnight in Ladakhi family houses along the route.
