Snow Leopard Trek
The ideal time to observe the snow leopard is from October (end of autumn) to April (early spring). Mating season takes place usually during February and March. Places to observe this elusive animal are Hemis National Park, the South-facing side of the Ladakh Mountain Range, particularly Ney Phu, Ulley Phu, and the hills of Skindyang village.
While looking out for the snow leopard, there is also a good chance of spotting other wild animals, like Ibexes, Bharal or Blue Sheep (Napo), Urial Sheep (Shapo), or other predators, like the Red Fox, in Ladakhi known as watse, the Tibetan Wolf (shanku), or the Lynx. Smaller animals are also worth to observe, like the Palla's Cat, different pikas, marmots, birds, etc.
